We first heard from the Mighty Mage in March of this year upon the release of his collection of compiled works, The Best of Mighty Mage. That record introduced The Static Dive readers to singer, songwriter, guitarist and producer, Khalid Hussain. A native of La Jolla, California, he first took the stage in his teens and has been writing, recording and performing music ever since.
Through the years Khalid has performed under a number of different stage names. In 2018 he introduced his Mighty Mage persona with the debut EP “Art Is Magic.” He immediately began building an impressive catalog of original music. Since then he has released two full length albums, including the aforementioned ‘Best Of’ which collected the highlights from his pre-Mage era.
“Do You Know” is the latest single from Mighty Mage, released worldwide via all major streaming services on June 3, 2022. A smooth, bluesy electric lead guitar introduces the track as an ensemble of acoustic guitar, bass drums and keys lay down a mellow Folk/Pop groove. Hussain steps to the mic and delivers a sweet, heartfelt love song, sung as an open letter to the object of his affection. Throughout the song, impeccably executed vocal harmonies accentuate the track’s organic vibe.
