HiddenLif is an emerging genre-bending independent artist who made his professional solo recording debut in 2021 the psychedelic chillout, “Purple Skies.” That track introduced an experimental creator from Virginia and now based in Southern California. His sound blends elements of hip-hop, trip-hop, r&b and pop into a completely unique new vibe.
Since dropping that first track the prolific producer has released a total of four singles and is currently working on his debut full-length album. Citing artists like Marvin Gaye, Frank Ocean and the Weeknd as influences, he creates dreamy and musically adventurous r&b-infused pop. It is a cerebral and introspective sound, and that is by design. The title of his new album The Velvet Room refers to the artist’s own secret metaphysical hiding place.
It has always been a shelter for me, but it’s significant that I open this room up, let others in, and eventually leave it behind all together.

“R4TH!” (run for the hills) is the brand new single from HiddenLif, released worldwide to all major streaming services on June 15, 2022. The song is arranged as a single lyrical concept delivered in two parts. The track opens on a chilled-out SoCal indie dream pop groove. Halfway through the song we shift gears into an ethereal alt/r&b slow jam. With soulful lead vocals and hypnotic harmonies, HiddenLif delivers a tale of romantic regret.
