Tanner Carlson is an emerging singer, songwriter, producer and recording engineer based in Nashville, Tennessee. The twenty-two year-old artist first got his start in music playing guitar in his local church youth group. He began writing songs in high school. He tried working with producers at first but soon realized he needed more creative control, so he got behind the board and learned the ropes.
Once he knew his way around the recording studio, Tanner Carlson was off to the races. He dropped his debut EP Perkins Point in 2018. That record introduced a talented young indie-pop artist with a unique and soulful sound. The lessons he learned while recording would become the seeds of a brand new career. Since his debut the prolific producer has dropped six more EPs. He enrolled in and graduated from Belmont University and now works full time as a recording engineer in Music City.
“Stuck” is the title track from the EP Tanner Carlson released via all major streaming services on August 20, 2022. As a producer, Carlson peppers his radio-ready sound with a cool experimental vibe. For example, “Stuck” opens with a funky bit of lo-fi guitar and some glitchy effects. That guitar beats at the heart of the song throughout. However, as Tanner delivers his torch song the track gradually evolves into an infectiously catchy pop groove.
