David Glow is a singer, songwriter, producer and entrepreneur making his professional solo recording debut in 2022. Born in Cameroon, West Africa of Nigerian descent, Glow now resides in Plainfield, Illinois with his wife Helen and their three children. A lifelong musician, the singer recently had the opportunity to share his music with the world.
Since his debut the prolific producer has very quickly amassed an impressive catalog of work. With a three song EP and seven singles to his credit, David Glow is connecting with fans around the world. With a soulful and eclectic sound he delivers emotional observations on subjects both personal and societal. He cites a wide range of artists as inspiration, including; Bob Marley, Fela Aníkúlápó Kuti, James Brown, Michael Jackson, The Beatles. We can hear their influence in his genre-fluid compositions.
As a songwriter, David Glow covers a broad range of subjects in his songs. The three song EP I Believe, Vol 1 opens on the chill groove of the r&b/pop love song “If I Ever.” The record then takes a more serious turn on “I Can’t Breathe.” That track adopts the BLM mantra as its title for a powerful and moving ambient trap meditation on police brutality. The EP closes on the hypnotic, syncopated trap of “Money Dey.”
Since the EP’s release David has dropped a string of singles. “Bad Girl” alternates between funky riff-rock chorus and an 80s-inspired synthwave verse as the singer tells the tale of a dangerous femme fatale. “Giving Me Love” changes gears for a modern, upbeat indie-pop love song. David Glow’s most recent single “You Can Never Win Me” is an empowering EDM banger. David defiantly sings the song’s title over an uplifting house groove.
