Kxlk is an emerging independent singer, songwriter and bedroom producer who made his professional recording debut last year with the single “Quits.” That track introduced a talented young American artist with a deeply personal songwriting style and a cool lo-fi vibe.
Since his debut the prolific producer has dropped three singles. Kxlk makes guitar-based dark indie-pop music that chronicles the complex emotional terrain of young love. On tracks like “SST” and “Quits” he pairs piano, electric and acoustic guitars with stream of consciousness spoken word tales of a relationship gone bad. He sets his melancholy compositions to chilled downtempo hip-hop grooves.
“I Still Love You” is the latest single from Kxlk, released worldwide via all major streaming services on July 1, 2022. As the title suggests, the track is a heartbreaking open letter to the singer’s ex. The singer’s acoustic guitar rides a funky lo-fi breakbeat as he steps to the mic and states his case to his former lover.
My girlfriend of a year and a half broke up with me recently so I just laid in bed one night and created this song.
