PsychCloned Raises A Powerful Phoenix

Since his debut in 2020, PsychCloned has produced a dizzying array of genre-fluid, cinematic instrumental music. In that time the prolific composer has delivered four full length albums and a long list of singles and EPs. Known to his family and friends as Gabriel Pureco, regular readers of The Static Dive are well acquainted with the talented artist’s work.

“Phoenix” is the latest single from PsychCloned, released worldwide via all major streaming services on July 1, 2022. Gabriel has recruited his usual suspects for the vibrant prog rock instrumental. Four expert musicians at the top of their game rock out through a complex soundscape of genre-shifts and time changes.

The track opens on a dramatic minor-key piano and guitar intro. The tension builds before the beat drops on a cool mix of modern jazz and flamenco guitar. In signature PsychCloned style the song soon shifts gears, stepping on the distortion pedal and kicking into a killer progressive rocker. Guitarist Ryan Jones, bassist Marco Ignacio Toba join Gabriel as they launch into the stratosphere with a high energy jam. For the final act the band drops to a smooth, syncopated jazz groove.
