Shannon Burchett Drops New Album ‘Lucky’

Shannon Burchett
Shannon Burchett

Shannon Burchett first appeared on these pages back in December of 2020 after he made his professional solo recording debut with a string of indie-pop singles. They introduced a gifted 16 year-old independent artist from Dallas, Texas. Despite his young age, the talented singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist is already a veteran of the music business.

Burchett began his music training on piano and guitar when he was just five years-old. Within a year he was performing publicly. Later he launched a popular YouTube channel on which he performed covers of popular songs such as James Arthur’s “Say You Won’t Let Go.” To date, Shannon’s version has garnered over a million views.

“Lucky” is the debut full-length album from Shannon, released worldwide via all major streaming services on October 15, 2021. The collection is a showcase of one young artist’s wide ranging and impressive talents. Throughout the 12-track set he delivers catchy pop nuggets, soulful romantic ballads and powerful emotional anthems.

From the dreamy and mystical indie-pop love song “Nirvana” to the superb guitar of the melancholy and blues-hued instrumental “Do You Know,” Shannon delivers style and soul that belie his youth. He pairs melancholy and wistful torch songs (“Someday”) with dramatic bilingual piano ballads (Tocame). He inspires on the uplifting and dreamy pop anthem “Alright” and consoles with his version of the Leaonard Cohen classic “Hallelujah.”

With excellent performances on multiple instruments, Shannon Burchett maneuvers these stylistic twists and turns with ease. His distinctive, soft and soulful vocals and the record’s pristine production serve as a common bond, tying the song together in theme and style. It’s a great record and an exciting new chapter for a deeply talented young artist at the dawn of his career.
