Regular readers of The Static Dive will remember Do Dirt from the feature we ran in May on his single “Lost Souls.” That track introduced us to Orange County, California native, Christopher Hoyer. He is a skilled emcee, singer and songwriter who made his debut in 2018. In his music he tells real-life tales of life in the hustle, informed and inspired by his own experiences
Since dropping that debut, Do Dirt has released dozens of singles and a full length album. Now signed to Bentley Records, the prolific rapper is readying his sophomore album, Gangstas and Rovers. In preparation of its release, over the few months he has dropped a string of successful singles. With tracks like “SAD!” and “Take Me Away” he has connected with tens of thousands of hip-hop fans around the world..
“Bag Up” is the latest single from Do Dirt, released worldwide via all major streaming services on June 24, 2022. Staccato piano arpeggios introduce the track. They dance around the edges of the mix as the beat drops on a slow and low 808 trap groove. Hoyer steps to the mic, alternating between a laid back melodic rap and more intense and bawdy drill freestyle.
