7ensei is the professional name of emerging independent songwriter and producer, Sam Katz. Although just 18 years-old he already has over a decade of experience in music, having studied classical and jazz piano throughout his youth. He made his professional recording debut earlier this year with the single “For it All.” That track introduced a talented artist with a classic, retro-electro sound.
Since his debut, the Los Angeles-based musician and UCLA student has connected with fans around the world. Collaborating with various talented female vocalists he makes genre-fluid alternative electronic music. His songs create subdued scenes that conjure images of moonlit drives and late night club lights.
“Dance Floor” is the latest single from 7ensei, released worldwide to all major streaming services on July 8, 2022. Ambient synths ride a downtempo breakbeat groove to set a hypnotic lo-fi synthwave vibe. Featured vocalist Alia Grey steps to the mic with a dreamy meditation on the confusion and excitement of young love. Deep bass tones hold down the floor as synths and string paint the edges of the mix.
