Venn Sung is an emerging rock trio making their recording debut in 2022. Singing bassist Benj met drummer Bruce and guitarist Steve at an open mic jam. The three bonded over their mutual appreciation of alternative rock and heavy metal, each in its various forms. The friendship quickly grew into family and a band was born.
On their debut, Venn Sung weaves a high energy and distinctly musical sound out of decades of influences, from new wave to nu metal. “All the Way Us” is the brand new single from Venn Sung, released worldwide via all major streaming services on July 14, 2022. The song is a fun and slightly mystical jam from a virtuosic trio of musicians based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Our band name comes from the Venn Diagram which shows where things connect. The name means: ‘Where we have connection, it has sung’.

The track opens on a classic alternative groove reminiscent of Joy Division or the Cure, but with a more upbeat 90’s alternative edge to it. Benj delivers a soulful and poetic testimonial as the band gradually builds the groove into a cool Cars vibe. By the bridge the song has built into a majestic prog rock production with multi-part harmonies and even a little punk. Ultimately the band ends with a nod to another great power trio Rush, with a “Cygnus X-1” inspired descending run. It is all a lot of fun that culminates in a very pop-savvy modern rock sound.

Where are you from?
We are from the Philly area.
How long have you been making music?
Together about 2 years. Individually 30-50 years haha.
Who are the musicians involved in your project?
Benj Yoblicka on Vox and Bass. Steven on Guitar and Bruce on drums.
Who are your biggest musical influences?
Soundgarden, Muse, Metallica, Foo Fighters, Nirvana
What is your greatest non-musical influence?
Connection between people and the universe when it triumphs over hate and greed.
What inspired you to create this project?
The idea that we can match the negative with the positive thru music, having a voice and connection.
What are your plans for the future (musically)?
We are currently filming a video for our 1st release “All The Way Us” It has shuffle dancing, ballet and animation in it. So exciting to film.
Is there anything else you would like to say?
Venn Sung cares deeply about mental health awareness. Each member has struggled and grown and hope to add some love and understanding into this world.
