Rebecca DGD Drops Fun New ‘Love’s Boss’

rebecca dgd

Rebecca DGD (aka DawgGoneDavis) is a rapper, singer and songwriter from Kansas City who first gained notoriety with a viral hit in 2018. That’s when Rebecca L. Davis donned a new hip-hop moniker and penned the funny autobiographical “Middle Age Woman – Hip Hop Style.”  The tongue-in-cheek rap topped indie charts from Asia to South America.

Since then the prolific artist has released twenty singles and two full length albums. Rebecca DGD works with an international creative team which includes German producer, saxophonist and flutist Hellmut Wolf, and guitarist Romain Duchein. Together they create their own distinct ‘rap and roll’ sound.

“Love’s Boss” is the brand new single from Rebecca DGD, released worldwide via all major streaming services on July 17, 2022. The track rolls on a classic old-time rock & roll groove. As the band rides that backbeat rhythm, DawgGoneDavis steps to the mic with a series of loosely associated anecdotes rapped in a sort of spoken-word, country beatnik poetry vibe. The chorus adds a bit of 90’s rock flare before the bridge kicks it up a notch with a bit of heavy metal shredding.

I feel so happy and blessed to have connected and worked with such talented musicians, with whom I would never have crossed paths had I never taken the leap to become an artist.
