Chitothe1 Drops New Debut ‘Unrendered’

Chitothe1 is an emerging independent hip-hop artist who made his professional solo recording debut in 2021 with the single “Light Show.” That record introduced a skilled emcee with a versatile style. From deep and dark trap beats to old-school boombap grooves, the rapper adjusts his technique to match the mood.

Since his debut the prolific producer has released a string of eight singles and now his first full-length album. He cites a wide range of artists as influences including; Mac Miller, shoreline mafia, Da$h, The Weeknd and Future. A native of Portland Oregon, he first started making music two years ago and is enjoying experimenting with different styles as he develops his own.

"My plans for the future are to keep doing what I’m doing, but better every time."

“Unrendered” is the debut full length album from chitothe1, released worldwide via all major streaming services on July 6, 2022. The ten song collection is a fun ride through a diverse mix of hip-hop grooves and a showcase for the impressive freestyle skills of a talented young rapper. He shifts from classic breakbeat rhythms to slow and low 808 grooves with ease in his signature lyrical flow.

From the old-school boombap beat and lo-fi vibes of “Studio” to the melancholy jazz-hop of “Vices,” Chitothe1 guides us on a stylistic tour through the history of hip-hop. Ambient synths and trippy samples set the mood for hard drug-fueled trap jams like “Purp Face” and “Bands in Japan.” Elsewhere the record takes its experimental theme to another level by mixing multiple genres in a single song.

Tracks like “Alone” and “Spite” pair classic soul samples with modern trap beats and even reggaeton vibes. Throughout the many genre explorations the rapper delivers clever and verbose freestyle bars. Whether rhyming about partying with the Kardashians, popping pills at the club or contemplating past lives, he drops his bars with a cool confidence and a healthy dose of humor.
