Understandud is an emerging independent alternative hip-hop artist from Los Angeles, California. With a style that combines elements of old-school hip-hop, psychedelic rock and jazz he creates a chilled vibe. As a rapper he has a mellow, verbose lyrical style.
Citing a wide range of influences from Kid Cudi to Nirvana, Understandud has a versatile and fluid sound. Since dropping his debut single “dreams” in 2020, Understandud (aka uud or ud) has released four singles. Each track takes a different path through the worlds of trip-hop and lo-fi hip-hop. Oldies rock, funk and r&b samples ride downtempo beats in a psychedelic haze of synths and found sounds.
