MVNDY (pronounced ‘mandy’) is an emerging singer, songwriter and producer who made her debut in November of last year with the single “ADDICT.” That track introduced a 20 year-old artist and advocate with a soulful indie-pop vibe and an eclectic genre-bending writing and production style.
When not in the studio, or in school working on her Music Industry major, Mandy spends time advocating for mental health awareness and chronic illness awareness. The causes hit close to home for the singer as she suffers from both. Through her music MVNDY hopes to inspire others with similar struggles.
“california.” is the brand new single from MVNDY, released worldwide via all major streaming services on July 28, 2022. As the track opens, the tape flips and a lonely piano plays a melancholy melody in the distance. Soon the beat drops on a downtempo lo-fi hip-hop groove. Deep bass tones hum as Mandy steps to the mic with a sleepy r&b-infused torch song. The singer delivers a sultry and soulful performance as she recites her heartbreakingly beautiful lovelorn poetry.
