eF eL O is an emerging independent singer/songwriter who made his professional solo recording debut in January of this year with the single “No Need to Flex.” That track introduced a skilled emcee with a unique sound that mixes modern trap beats with a percussive and funky Afrobeats vibe. The rapper’s new music is the realization of a dream deferred.

Originally from the West African nation of Benin and now based in the United States, eF eL O first started rapping at 14 years old. However, college and a career diverted his attention for a time. In 2021 he stepped back to the mic and started dropping records. Since his debut the prolific rapper has released a total of 14 singles and recently dropped two brand new videos.

“I Want Ya” is the latest single and video from eF eL O, released worldwide via all major streaming services on August 14, 2022. An electric guitar plucks a melodic and percussive arpeggio progression to open the track. Soon the beat drops on a funky Afrobeats groove. Guest vocalist Pascala enters the mix. In French she sings a sultry take on the song’s chorus. eF eL O steps to the mic, rapping and singing in English and the two share a bilingual love duet.

“No Wahala” (no trouble) rides on a mix of organic and electronic instruments as they lay down a chill groove that features elements of reggae and Afrobeats. On the mic, eF eL O raps a feel-good freestyle as he riffs on the song’s title. The video brings the beat back to Africa as we see the rapper singing and partying with fans in Africa.
