flat7 is an independent genre-fluid singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist composer/producer with sound defined by his deep devotion to the art and craft of music making. As the track opens, a solo piano quietly plays a repeating two chord arpeggio progression. Glitch synths and percussion hint at more as the singer breathes life into the mic. Soon the song morphs into a hypnotic mix of avant garde jazz and experimental electronic music. In under two minutes, flat7 guides us through an abstract dream of modal shifts, time changes and an ethereal vocal meditation on love and longing.
