Second State Debuts New Virtual Rock

second state

Second State is the virtual pop-punk band at the heart of a fun new multimedia rock & roll project. The band consists of four mononymous animated rockers; Seven, Riot, Edge and Razor. Their story has been played out online in a series of social media posts. Now it is getting a soundtrack.

Throughout the summer, the Second State creators have teased the band’s debut. From elusive guitarist Edge to incendiary drummer Riot, the members’ personal histories can be found among the band’s Instagram posts. The page also features a ton of excellent original artwork. The frames hint at future reveals as the story unfolds.

“You Make My Heart Go Wild” is the debut single from Second State, released worldwide via all major streaming services on August 23, 2022. Power chords swell and the beat drops on an uptempo pop-punk rocker. It’s a sound ripped from the airwaves of the genre’s early-2000s heyday, and one that is making a comeback in the 2020s with the support of high-profile artists like Machine Gun Kelly.

For their part, the line-drawn heroes of Second State rock as hard as any of their 3-D contemporaries. Infectious pop hooks meet staccato kick-drum fills and doubletime solos. Within this setting the band servers every verse of tortured teenage trauma with just the right dose of curled-lip attitude.
