N8TR’s Chill Vibes & Simple Pleasures

  • by
N8TR

N8TR (pronounced nature) is an emerging independent singer, songwriter, guitarist and producer who made his professional solo recording debut in 2021 with the single “Introvert.” That track introduced a talented young hip-hop artist from New Jersey with skills behind the board and at the mic.

Since his debut, the prolific producer has released ten follow-up singles. He has connected with hip-hop fans around the world thanks to the chill grooves, guitar moods and impressive emcee skills on tracks like “Swish” and the powerful “Authority.”

“Simple Pleasures” is a new single from N8TR, available worldwide via all major streaming services. A lonely jazz guitar introduces the track as N8TR steps to the mic. The beat drops on a funky syncopated trap groove as the singer delivers his sultry love song. He slides easily between chopping rhymes, r&b vibes and smooth jazz phrasing. It’s a great sound and an impressive vocal performance.

8 Questions with N8TR

N8TR's Chill Vibes & Simple Pleasures 1

Where are you from?

I was born and raised in Rahway, New Jersey.

How long have you been making music?

I started as a kid playing the trumpet and piano, but I taught myself the guitar and have been making my own music for about 10 years or so.

Who are the musicians involved in your project?

I enjoy collaborations thoroughly. I’m excited to be working with my good friend Mike, Nick over at Real Feel Studios in Orlando, blkcitrus and a few other talented and outstanding individuals who constantly serve as a motivation to me and my creative passions.

Who are your biggest musical influences?

Circa Survive, Mick Jenkins, Eminem, and Frank Ocean.

What is your greatest non-musical influence?

Probably the most hippie musician thing I’ll say, but life itself. Life is pretty creative. Definitely knows how to keep me on my toes.

What inspired you to create this project?

Realizing two distinct demographics of people and the spectrum between them. “Greed & Gravity”, my projected album, will be from an observational perspective on the “ambitious ego” versus the “satiable pursuit”. Two concepts that summarize greedy people and chill folk and how the blend of the two is seemingly unique in every person, based on their individual experience on this planet. The limitlessness of human existence is what inspires me to create. But that realization is what inspired the spark of imagination needed to do so.

What are your plans for the future (musically)?

Take it as far as it can go. Gotta get in front of people in real life and on the internet. The desire for people to hear what I’ve had the blessing to be able to make here is very real.

Is there anything else you would like to say?

I’m eternally grateful for the opportunity to create, to share, to inspire as much as the people in my life have done for me. I hope people who give my music a chance can experience a sense of relatability and connection I’m trying to convey. That’s what we’re here to do after all, connect. Thank you.
