FID (fidelity is dead) is an emerging independent hip-hop artist who made his professional solo recording debut in 2021 with the single “Lethal Bliss.” That track introduced a talented young rapper, singer, guitarist and beatmaker from Australia. Citing influences like NF, bliss n eso, YUNGBLUD and HilltopHoods he creates cerebral hip-hop with a rapid-fire lyrical flow, ethereal moods and gritty lo-fi beats.
Since his debut last year the prolific rapper has produced a total of seven singles. With each new release he has connected with thousands of independent hip-hop fans around the world. On tracks like “Maybe” and “Auburn Days” he sings and raps about emotional struggles, both personal and global.
“Season of Puppets” is the brand new single from FID, released worldwide via all major streaming services on September 9, 2022. A clavichord loop plays a classical music arpeggio progression as the beat drops on a hard hip-hop groove. Producer Thomas Shorthouse weaves elements of trap, grime and reggaeton into a punchy and urgent beat as the rapper drops a smart and fearless chopping freestyle.
