Chris St John is a singer/songwriter and guitarist who made his professional solo recording debut in 2021 with the album “Fly Away.” That record introduced a talented lifelong musician who decided on a whim to put his music to tape on a fluke. That whim launched a successful music career which has already garnered a Grammy nomination and multiple chart-topping hits.
Growing up in Long Island, Chris St John was influenced early on by the classic rock/pop of bands like the Beatles, the psychedelic mountain music of the Grateful Dead and iconic country artists like Patsy Cline and Johnny Cash. As an adult, he continued to play guitar and write songs. However, a career in music remained a silent dream.
Now a world traveler and philanthropist, Chris was working a cattle run in Wyoming when inspired to write and record a song. That spawned a whirlwind of creativity which has produced two albums in as many years, with a third on the way.
“Lost Without Your Love” is the debut single and lead-off track from Chris St John’s latest album When Dreams End, available worldwide via all major streaming services. The track is a beautiful downtempo americana torch song. Electric, acoustic and steel guitars paint an ethereal country-tinged soundscape as the singer sings of the insecurity and desperation of love. It’s a love he needs and wants, but it scares him.
Through the eight tracks on When Dreams End, Chris St John navigates the memories, heartaches and joys of life. From the loss of a loved one (“Oh Papa”) to melancholy introspection of the title track, Chris taps into the universal truths and emotions unique to the human experience. His music has struck a chord with fans and caught the attention of the industry. “Lost Without Your Love” has topped indie charts around the world, and has now been nominated for a Grammy.
