Mon Rove is the professional name of the married songwriting duo of Justice Chaparro and Mikayla Chaparro. They are making their debut in 2022 with a song born of tragedy. A product of unimaginable grief, the project serves as a cathartic vehicle of healing for the Chaparro’s.
Justice Chaparro returned home on that horrible day, unable to discuss his pain with any of the loved ones around him. He retreated to his music. He quickly composed the guitar and bass parts for the song that would eventually become a tribute to his son. Later Mikayla would compose the song’s heart-wrenching lyrics.
“Like a Monarch” is the debut single from Mon Rove, released worldwide via all major streaming services on September 23, 2022. A solo organ opens the track. Soon guitar, bass and ambient synths enter the mix as Mikayla steps to the mic. She delivers a beautiful, ethereal and heartbreaking performance. Drums join the band and lay down a mellow groove Justice paints the edges of the mix with some nice bluesy lead guitar.
