PsychCloned is back with another genre-smashing instrumental. Known to friends and family as Gabriel Pureco, regular readers of The Static Dive have followed the talented and versatile North Carolina-based composer/producer for the past two years. We have been there with Gabriel as his sound has continued to evolve.
Since his debut in 2020 the prolific creator has produced a steady flow of new material. His music ranges from electronic video game music to orchestral cinematic scores and avant-garde prog-rock experiments. For his latest track, Pureco called on some friends for a fun and funky fusion jam.
“Feeling Groovy ” is the brand new single from PsychCloned, released worldwide via all major streaming services on September 30, 2022. Gabriel is joined on the track by a crew of collaborators. Ry Jones (Guitar), Camilo D.G. (Guitar and Keys), Space Hobo (Drums), Marco Toba (Bass), and Tyler Rumore (Trombones and Trumpet) join the composer for a rollicking jam.
The track opens with a jazzy melodic bass line. Horns, drums and piano enter the mix with a descending minor-key mood before an electric guitar interjects a shot of acid jazz. As the song progresses the band navigates Jeff Beck-worthy fusion grooves, Tijuana Brass moods and a touch of sci-fi art-rock.
