Todd Michael Chapman’s New Rock Power Ballad

  • by
todd michael chapman

Todd Michael Chapman is a veteran Western New York rocker who recently embarked on a new musical journey. Throughout his teens and early twenties Todd performed in a number of bands around the hopping Buffalo music scene. Then, life and a successful career in technology pushed his rock & roll ambitions to the backburner for a few years.

Throughout his time of red-eye flights and board meetings, Todd Michael Chapman continued to play music. He is an accomplished singer, guitarist and multi-instrumentalist who has recorded and performed with a wide array of artists over the years. In 2021 he made his professional solo recording debut with a gritty and bluesy rendition of Cliff Richards’ classic “Devil Woman”.

“Jodi’s Pain” is the latest single from Todd Michael Chapman, released worldwide via all major streaming services on September 23, 2022. An acoustic guitar introduces the track, picking an ethereal chord progression before the band joins in with a mid-tempo 90’s alternative pop/rock groove.

Chapman steps to the mic and delivers an impassioned tale of one young woman’s escape from a toxic relationship. Through its course, the song builds from its quiet beginnings to an anthemic power ballad, led by an arena-worthy blues/rock guitar solo.

It's a slight departure from my typical, more upbeat lyrical and musical themes. Written and performed by me with guest performer Mike Schill on bass.
