Jon Sousa is an emerging independent singer, songwriter and producer making his debut in 2022. The 15 year-old Connecticut native first started making music two years ago. He has spent that time defining and refining his sound. On September 30, 2022 he dropped his debut single “Break” available worldwide via all major streaming services.
As the track opens, a low sine wave bass tone rides a distorted breakbeat rhythm. The sound recalls the great cerebral alt-rock and trip-hop acts of the 90’s like Radiohead and Massive Attack, while keeping one foot firmly in the lo-fi experimental indie-pop of artists like FKA twigs. As the beat unfolds, the singer steps to the mic with a soulful and melodic alt-rock meditation on addiction, compulsion and bad choices.
