Charming to the Last is an emerging independent rock band who made their professional recording debut in 2020 with the album “It’s the Little Things.” That 11-song collection introduced Ben Bourque and Alex Arthurs, two lifelong friends and musicians with a knack for making radio-ready rock & roll. Now, with a brand new record and the addition of bassist Christian Monteith to their ranks, the band is taking their act to the next level.
Their sound is a rich mix of indie, punk, alternative and classic rock. With influences from across the decades of rock & roll history, they create a polished and potent brand of genre-bending power-pop. Lyrically their songs explore the dramas of family, love and mental health.
“A Single Spark” is the brand new album from Charming to the Last, released worldwide on September 13, 2022 via all major streaming services. The 13-song set is a powerhouse showcase for the talented band’s distinctive sound. From the somber ballad “The Incident” to introspective indie-pop of “I’ve Got This Figured Out”, they navigate the emotional nuances of life, with guitars.
Their sound is a unique modern indie rock vibe inspired by early 2000s punk and 90’s alternative rock. They drop the wistful and emotional power-pop on tracks like “Breakaway” and the memorable “Wave of Regret”. The band is not afraid to crank it to eleven on uptempo rockers like “Illusion of Freedom” and metal-infused tracks like “Desperate Times” and “Bury Me”.
