heartbeat in the brain

Heartbeat in the Brain is the professional name of 21 year-old composer and producer Arnaud Rodier. He began making music in 2017, and over the course of the last five years has released dozens of tracks via his Soundcloud and YouTube channels. He made his wide-distribution professional solo recording debut in 2022.

The prolific producer finds inspiration in multiple forms of media. The music of experimental electronic artists like Aphex Twin, You’ll Never Get to Heaven, and Crystal Castles have influenced his sound. Arnaud is also a big fan of manga artist Junji Ito.

"My biggest inspiration is in the soundtracks of old horror video games like Resident Evil or Silent Hill from Akira Yamaoka (Silent Hill 2 soundtrack)."
Heartbeat in the Brain

“I’m Taking The Subway Home” is the latest single from Heartbeat in the Brain’s new album Low Quality Content, released worldwide via all major streaming services on August 17, 2022. Ambient synths introduce the track as they float above the sound of a distant train.  Strings and bass swell into the mix and the beat drops on a chilled trip-hop groove. Melodic bells paint the periphery and a darkwave guitar echoes on the horizon before this dreamy psychedelic scene dissolves in a mist.

Check out “I’m Taking The Subway Home” below. You can also hear the track on the Deep Indie Chill playlist, or listen on your favorite streaming service. Follow the links below to connect with Heartbeat in the Brain and get in the know.
