Amaan Mohiuddin is a singer, songwriter and producer from Texas. Known professionally simply as Amaan, he made his solo recording debut in 2020. Back then he went by the name Purple Activist and his EP Slurred Speech introduced a multi-talented hip-hop/r&b artist with soulful and psychedelic sound.
In 2022 he reemerged with a new moniker and a fresh batch of sexy synth-fueled moods. The prolific producer has dropped five new singles since August. The Pakistani/Indian artist was born and raised in Houston. His music is influenced both by traditional Indian music and his hometown’s own rich musical heritage.
“Wait till I get back” is the latest single from Amaan, released worldwide via all major streaming services on October 21, 2022. A chill lo-fi guitar opens the track before the beat drops on a downtempo r&b/trap slow jam. The singer steps to the mic and delivers a soft and soulful torch song. Ambient synths and vocal samples paint the edges of the mix and a deep 808 bass holds it down.
