FKA Franky is an emerging independent hip-hop artist who made his professional solo recording debut in 2021 with the single “Bones”. That track introduced Lachlan Dowson, a talented singer, songwriter and rapper from Perth, Western Australia. Working with producer Matthew Templeman he pairs a rapid-fire, lyrical style with trap groove, jazz vibes and a healthy dose of r&b soul.
Since his debut, FKA Franky has released five singles. He has connected with fans around the world with tracks like “Wherever I Go” and “Achilles’ ‘. The rapper cites 90s hip-hop legends like Nas and Wu-Tang Clan as his primary influences, as well as modern artists like Joey Bada$$ and 21 Savage.
“Anguish” is the brand new single from FKA Franky, released worldwide via all major streaming services on November 4, 2022. Dark, ambient minor-key synths introduce the track. Soon Franky steps to the mic with rhythmic, verbose freestyle. Subterranean bass tones rattle the floor beneath a downtempo trap beat as vocal harmonies, keys and guitars paint the edges of the mix.
