Jamie Dunphy and True North made their debut in 2019 when three veteran Boston musicians were drawn together by a mutual appreciation for great singer/songwriter alternative rock. In that time, Jamie Dunphy (Mill City Trio, Jamie Dunphy Band), Seth Peterson (Electric Standard, The Gone Boys, Capital 6) and Tod Salmonson (The Snap Daddies, Dr. Smigley’s Baby) have made a name for themselves in the hometown’s legendary music scene.
Since their debut the prolific crew has produced six singles, an EP and a full length album. Regular readers of The Static Dive will remember the group from tracks like January’s “I’m Still Here“. Their sound is a mix of classic guitar-driven college with just a touch of Americana twang.
“Snowfall” is the latest single from Jamie Dunphy and True North, released worldwide via all major streaming services on November 2, 2022. The song opens on an infectiously catchy guitar riff before sliding into a classic REM-style, jangly-guitar groove. Backed by an ensemble of guitars, bass, drums and keys, Jamie steps to the mic with a wistful but musically upbeat relationship post-mortem.
