Evelyn J is the professional name of emerging independent singer/songwriter Evelyn Jonathon. An accomplished musician and storyteller, she made her professional solo recording debut in 2020 with the single “Someone New”. That track introduced a talented multi-instrumentalist who creates deeply personal, emotional indie-pop.
Originally from Chicago, she began making music at an early age. She studied guitar and drums and participated in her high school’s marching band. Now twenty-six and based in Denver, the multi-talented artist has launched a new phase of her musical journey.
“Home” is the brand new single from Evelyn J, released worldwide via all major streaming services on November 14, 2022. The song is a melancholy alt-folk tale of love and loss. On the track, we find the singer alone with her guitar. Accompanied only by occasional percussion, she sings a heartbreaking relationship post-mortem. Jazz chords spice up the track’s folky vibe as Evelyn quietly and intimately bares her soul.
