Aria is the professional name of Italian composer and producer, Mariano Schiavolini. The veteran musician has been a key figure of the Italian progressive rock scene for decades. His band Celeste is often referred to as the ‘King Crimson of Italy.’
For this project, Schiavolini works with artists from around the world to bring his compositions to life. He writes socially conscious songs with universally relatable themes of peace, tolerance and environmental custodianship. His music has connected with hundreds of thousands of fans and has won awards around the world.
“A Christmas Letter” is the latest single and video, released worldwide via all major streaming services on November 20, 2022. A beautiful r&b/pop piano ballad, the song is dedicated to women and children everywhere. Vocalist Sherita-O sings a soulful letter to home from a woman forced to be away from her loved ones at Christmas.
The song’s lyrics were written by Cambridge author Nicolette Turner. The City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra and the Macedonian children’s choir join Sherita-O for a moving and cinematic dedication. Schiavolini explains that the piece is particularly relevant today, as the world struggles with numerous wars and humanitarian crises.
