Eight Tones is the professional name of emerging independent singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist producer, Eyton Schulman. By day he is a teacher of both English and music. The composer lives with his wife and seven children in the small pastoral Israeli village of Cochav Hashachar, overlooking the Dead Sea.
Although he is a lifelong musician, Eyton only recently decided to try his hand at songwriting. During a particularly introspective time in his life, the artist found himself drawn to composing experimental singer/songwriter pop and rock. Last month he made his professional solo recording debut.
“Man I Am” is the brand new single from Eight Tones, released worldwide via all major streaming services on November 22, 2022. A cello and flute duo opens the melancholy tune. Live drums enter the mix to lay down a jazzy downtempo groove. Layers of strings and an occasional guitar paint the periphery as Schulman contemplates the impermanence of life in a wistful and poetic soliloquy.
