Storied Windows is the professional name of a husband and wife music composition, songwriting and production team. Richard and Traci Wilusz. The Northern Virginia duo debuted the project last year with the single “Raindrops”. Since then the prolific pair have released two full length albums and a brand new EP.
However, Storied Windows’ commercial releases are just the tip of the iceberg for the Wilusz team. The couple’s specialty is in writing music for film and television. The award winning duo have written in a wide variety of styles ranging from orchestral and classical instrumentals to indie folk vocal songs.
Like You Do is the brand new EP from Storied Windows, released worldwide via all major streaming services on November 26, 2022. The record is a four-song collection of romantic and soulful r&b/pop love songs. Their music has a live and authentic sound, built on simple, clean arrangements and expert musicianship.
The EP opens with the smooth jazz vibes of “Last to Know”. An organic quartet featuring bass, drums, electric piano and a blues-infused Stratocaster accompany the singer as he delivers his falsetto heartbreaker. The title track “Like You Do” follows with a bit of classic 80’s electro-pop soul. Reverb-soaked keys float on the horizon for this dreamy prom-approved slow dance duet.
“Somewhere in the Middle” is a melancholy downtempo love song. A rhythmic progression of guitar triads beats at the heart of the track while the singer tells her tale of the inescapable confusion and insecurity of romantic love. The record closes on “Save it for Another Day”, a clever and wistful dream-pop torch song. The protagonist pines for the girl of his dreams in an ethereal mix of guitars, keys and vocal harmonies.
