The Ruiners are a veteran glam punk band who have been rocking Detroit for over a decade. Following in the footsteps of Motor City proto-punk legends like The Stooges and MC5, the band specializes in raw, guitar-driven rock & roll. Fronted by their charismatic singer and founding member Rick Ruiner, the group embraces the DIY aesthetic of classic punk bands of the 70’s and 80’s.
“No More Mariah Carey ” is the brand new original Christmas song from The Ruiners, released worldwide via all major streaming services on December 5, 2022. To ring in the holiday season, the band serves-up a fun, funny and rocking protest of the legendary songbird’s ubiquitous presence each December. With a sound that lands somewhere between the psychobilly surf-punk riff-rock of The Cramps and the classic power-chord punk of The Ramones, the band states their case for a Carey-less Christmas.

In 2020, Rick and The Ruiners’ Goth-Abilly offshoot band – Bat Hearse – released an alternative holiday song called “Coffin for Christmas” that became an indie goth anthem garnering thousands of streams. It continues to be a fan favorite at Bat Hearse’s live shows.
