Bsrwashere is an emerging independent singer, songwriter and producer from Kolkata, India. He made his professional recording debut in 2020 with the single “Perception”. That track introduced a talented young artist specializing in chilled downtempo hip-hop.
Since his debut, the prolific producer has released over a dozen singles as well as the five-song EP Same Again. He has connected with hip-hop fans around the world thanks to hits like “Jaded” and “Magic”. In addition to his solo work, bsrwashere has also produced tracks for a number of other artists.
“Cruisin” is the brand new single from bsrwashere, released worldwide via all major streaming services on December 1, 2022. Ambient synths and open the track before the beat drops on a slow and low 808 trap groove. Psychedelic effects paint the periphery as the singer steps top the mic for a melodic rap about a midnight ride through his city.

Where are you from?
I’m from Kolkata, India
How long have you been making music?
I’ve been making music for about 2 years now. I started making music to kill my boredom when the pandemic hit but ever since then my love for music has grown exponentially, it helped me be more vocal about my thoughts and feelings and gave me an outlet to vent. Music is therapeutic to me in a way.
Who are the musicians involved in your project?
sincerely dylan, a friend of mine and fellow artist is featured on this track, we made this song together. We worked on this for a long time to bring it as close to perfection as we could!
Who are your biggest musical influences?
First, I would have to say Lil Skies, he is the reason I started taking music seriously and he inspires me to make more and more music every single day! He really changed my life for the better, I admire Skies a lot. Other than him, my music is influenced by many different artists from various different genres. I hate being bound to a single genre so I experiment with my own music a lot too and I have made music in a lot of genres too(most of it unreleased)
But to name some i would say, brakence, Brevin Kim, The Weeknd, I Prevail, Lil Peep, Lil Tecca.(there’s so many more i could name but i won’t

What is your greatest non-musical influence?
Art in itself is my biggest influence, just the beauty of creating something out of nothing is fascinating and fulfilling to me. Art has been a major part of my life since I was a kid, my mum is a very artistic person herself, she has countless accolades in Painting and Drawing.
What inspired you to create this project?
It all started with an idea to make something similar to The Weeknd’s style, deep R&B Rap type of track. Me and Dylan planned it out, Dylan sent me his hook and I knew this was gonna be a really good song. We put everything into making this exactly as we envisioned it.
What are your plans for the future (musically)?
I am and want to keep pursuing music as a career, not only as an artist but as a producer and engineer too. I already produce and mix for other artists and I plan to keep doing that while working on my own sound! I wanna build a team of musicians/creatives in the future, me and my friends are already working towards that!
Is there anything else you would like to say?
Yeah I would just like to say how grateful I am of everything I’ve been blessed with! I was never good with words so I could never express myself but then i was blessed with music and that changed a lot for me, i didn’t feel so burdened anymore and seeing ppl relate to the words i say made me feel less alone and i hope it did the same for those ppl too, I hope they know that they are not alone.
I am truly thankful for all I have and this crazy life!
