Taija New is an emerging rhythmic pop artist who made her professional solo recording debut in 2015 with the debut album Color Me Complex. That record introduced a talented and versatile genre-defying singer/songwriter from Springfield, Massachusetts. Prior to the album’s release, the singer cut her teeth on the open mic stages of her hometown’s thriving music scene.
Since that debut Taija New has amassed an impressive volume of work. To date she has released two albums, one EP and a dozen singles. She has connected with fans around the world with hit singles like 2020’s “Couture” and “Body on Revenge”, released earlier this year.
“So Long” is the brand new single from Taija New, released worldwide via all major streaming services on November 28, 2022. The track opens on an angelic arrangement of multi-part vocal harmonies. Soon the beat drops on a downtempo Caribbean groove as Taija steps to the mic. With the familiar bite of a woman scorned, she delivers a scathing breakup rap. In the song’s chorus she drops smooth r&b vibes as ambient synths and vocal effects paint the periphery.
