Differently Familiar is a new independent hip-hop duo from the DMV. Tony Nollo and Noah Darrius have each previously released music as solo artists. Fate brought them together in 2022 when the two friends found out some surprising news.
Earlier this year, Tony and Noah discovered they were family after being introduced by a mutual cousin that they both grew up with. It wasn’t long before the two rappers were dropping bars together in the studio. Differently Familiar was born.
The group’s name represents their style. They combine the familiar with the fresh to create a completely unique new vibe. The pair is currently in production, recording tracks for their debut album, Watch This.
“The Christmas” is the debut single from Differently Familiar, released worldwide via all major streaming services on December 12, 2022. A lo-fi guitar loop plays a jazzy jingle bell riff as the beat drops on a laidback trap groove. Noah and Tony step to the mic for the song’s catchy melodic hook before trading an old-school yuletide lyrical freestyle.
