Willie T The Hitmaker is an emerging independent hip-hop artist making his debut in 2022. The Miami-Dade County, Floridian comes to the music world from a difficult and violent past. In his younger days he survived a gunshot wound, a kidnapping, and other violence, both gang and domestic.
Now devoted to his craft, Willie T The Hitmaker has spent the last six years building his studio and developing his sound. His music is a unique mix of Southern trap and old-school lyrical rap. This month, he dropped his first publicly released track.
“Laugh Now Cry Later” is the debut single from Willie T The Hitmaker, released worldwide via all major streaming services on December 2, 2022. The song is an autobiographical tale of past high crimes and misdemeanors. Willie is joined on the FaboBeatz-produced track by featured rapper Flame Lasauce.
On the mic, each emcee pairs a verbose style with a melodic and rhythmic flow over a chill trap groove. Throughout the track, the rappers’ points of view alternate between the roles of protagonist and narrator. They effectively make subtle vocal and production tweaks to accent the shifts in perspective.
