Boston’s The Freight first made their name as a live band in their hometown’s legendary music scene. When venues shut down around the world in 2020, the band shifted their focus to the recording studio. They debuted with the Apple Music chart-topping hit single “Show Me”. That track introduced a five-piece ensemble of rock virtuosos led by soulful singer, songwriter and expert ax-man, Adam Tiro.
Regular readers of The Static Dive have followed The Freight from the beginning. They have released a string of successful singles. Happily wearing their influences on their sleeves, the veteran rockers are building a rich catalog of blues-infused, Stratocaster-fueled alt-rock, synth-rock and prog-rock gems.
“See Ya” is the brand new single from The Freight, released worldwide via all major streaming services on January 13, 2023. This is the first time they have committed the song to tape, after years of playing it in clubs. It is a fan favorite from their early days.
The band brought all of that energy to the studio. The track pops with all the live power of its origins. On the one, the band drops a fist-pumping rocker that brings to mind the riff-mastery of rock luminaries (and fellow Bostonians) Aerosmith. The pedal stays firmly on the metal as the quintet sets a fiery backdrop for Tiro’s equally incendiary final goodbye to a soon-to-be forgotten ex.
