Arunka’s Timeless & Hypnotic Fantasy Folk

Arunka is the brainchild of Polish vocalist and flutist Karolina Baworowska. She launched the fantasy folk project nearly three years ago as a solo endeavor. However, the multi-talented composer and producer quickly found a devoted following of fans and fellow musicians. As interest grew, so did her ensemble.

Now a quartet, Arunka is; Karolina Baworowska (vocals, flute), Dariusz Szmar (guitar), Grzegorz Sołdyński (drums), Alicja Sroka (vocal). The band debuted their timeless, organic musical vibe in 2021 with the song “Mantra”. They followed shortly thereafter with a seven-song eponymous EP. Those records introduced a wildly creative group with an entirely unique and thoroughly addictive sound built on elements of medieval folk, jazz and psychedelic rock.

“Sen” is the current single and closing track from Arunka’s self-titled EP, available worldwide via all major streaming services. The piece is a six-minute meditation, blending folk, world and transcendental music. A hypnotic flute riff beats at the heart of the piece. Acoustic guitar and a mix of traditional percussive instruments set the groove as Karolina and Alicja’ ethereal vocals float on the horizon.

"Fur!"
This is my animal-like sound that I like to make,
as I feel a bit elven-human-animal 🙂
