Moped Mafia is an original independent rock band who made their professional recording debut in 2019 with the single “Gina”. That track introduced a raucous quartet from Cincinnati, Ohio, with a guitar-driven, punk-infused garage rock sound.
Gino Randazzo (bass), Chuck Ball (lead guitar), Max Andrews (drums) and Rick Wichmann (vocals, rhythm guitar) are four veterans of the Cincinnati music scene. Prior to coming together as Moped Mafia, they enjoyed regional success with groups like Super77. They took a brief hiatus after releasing their debut 2020 EP “Tilt A Whirl”. In 2022, they got the band back together.
Bombshell is the latest EP from Moped Mafia, available worldwide via all major streaming services. The seven-song collection is a fun ride through the band’s world of power chords, pop hooks and broken hearted rockers. From the 80’s college rock vibes of tracks like “Annabelle” to the classic punk angst of the title track and “Long Way to Go”, the band deals in earnest and anthemic rock & roll with their amps cranked to 11.
“Crackin the Rats” is the current single from Bombshell. The track opens on a AC/DC inspired guitar lick before the beat drops on a classic 70’s post-punk CBGB groove. Moped Mafia kicks out a bangin’ three-chord rocker as lead vocalist Rick Wichmann tells a tale of falling on hard times and fighting his way back.
