Don Afric is the professional name of rapper, singer and songwriter Oussama Esseddyq. Originally from the city of Tangier in Morocco, the musician now calls Dubai home. He made his international solo recording debut in 2019 with the single “Cuando Tu Me Miras!” (when you look at me).
Since his debut, the prolific producer has released a dozen singles, and now a brand new album. He has connected with fans worldwide, thanks to hits like last year’s “Hot One”. The multifaceted artist raps and sings in five different languages; English, Arabic, French, Spanish and Dutch. In addition to his music, Don Afric has worked in the film industry on blockbusters like the James Bond flick Spectre and the Brad Pitt comedy War Machine.
“bezos’ ‘ is the opening track and current single from Don Afric’s debut album Yellow Pages, released worldwide on January 7, 2023. A solo minor-key piano opens the track. Soon the beat drops on a downtempo hip-hop/trap beat. Cinematic strings and syncopated percussion build the drama as the rapper steps to the mic with his distinctive rhythmic, melodic and expressive flow. It’s a unique sound that grabs our attention and pulls us in.
