Pios Phantom New EP – The Celtic Rock

We first heard from Pios Phantom in March of last year upon the release of the Siegbachtal Rock Opera. The epic project consisted of a series of 3-song EPs released over the course of a year by a collective of musicians from around the world. The project was originally inspired by the music and art of the small German community of Siegbachthal.

The ring leader of this international collaboration is songwriter, guitarist and producer Balarama. Working with singers and instrumentalists from around the world, the globe-trotting artist creates positive vibes and spiritually-fueled pop, rock and folk music.

“The Celtic Rock” is the latest EP from Pios Phantom, released worldwide via all major streaming services on February 14, 2023. On the new three-song set, the genre-bending Balarama and crew deliver a collection of alternative pop and rock nuggets. Lyrically, each track explores a different corner of the band’s philosophy of fostering peace and love through music.

The EP opens on the title track, a percussive guitar-driven lo-fi indie-rock ballad about a spiritual pilgrimage. The infectiously catchy alt-rock “The Voyagerman” follows and adds a nice 90’s alt-rock radio vibe to the mix. Lyrically the song tells the tale of Balarama’s own international musical journey.

The record closes on “I Need You”.  An upbeat pop/punk rocker that mixes an early 2000’s Blink-182 style pop/punk sound with Pios Phantom’s signature philosophical lyrics, mixing metaphors of romantic love and spiritual growth.
