American Bambino is a veteran singer, rapper and songwriter based in Los Angeles, California. Over the last 15 years he has worked with a wide array of groups and producers. He even had a hit single on Swedish radio. Now he’s heading into 2023 with a brand new solo project.
Originally from Phoenix, Arizona, American Bambino conquered a multitude of adversities to get where he is today. On a new spiritual path, the artist says he hopes to help others with fighting their own demons.
“Cruising” is the debut single from American Bambino, released worldwide on February 3, 2023 via all major streaming services. Working with multi-platinum producer Mantra, American Bambino opens the track on a laid-back funk groove. On the mic, he drops a lyrical freestyle that brings to mind the jazz-paced flow of old-school Tribe Called Quest pioneer, Q-Tip.est pioneer, Q-Tip.
Then the hook drops and we are transported to a late night cruise up to the PCH. A disco-infused organic funk sets a mellow party mood. American Bambino drops soulful tones and syncopated rhymes while analog synths and a funky guitar paint the periphery. The song’s psychedelic animated video only adds to the strong SoCal vibes
