Geno Demari is an emerging independent hip-hop artist who made his solo professional recording debut in 2020 with the single “#DoYouRight”. That track introduced a talented rapper, songwriter and producer from the Southside of Chicago, Illinois. He combines a verbose lyrical flow with trippy downtempo psychedelic beats.
Since his debut, the prolific emcee has released a full-length album, an EP and a string of successful singles. He has connected with fans around the world on hits like 2020s “What it Is”. This month he released his first new music of the new year.
To Say the Least is the brand new EP from Geno Demari, released worldwide via all major streaming services on February 1, 2023. The 6-song collection is the perfect showcase for the rapper’s distinctive lyrical style and his uniquely trippy production techniques. Geno produced, composed and performed all of the songs on the EP.
“Show and Tell” opens the set with a chill trap groove. Geno Demari steps to the mic with a mellow freestyle. “Face Off” follows, incorporating elements of lo-fi and funk. Throughout the reco4rd, the rapper slides smoothly between old-school rhymes, melodic rap and emo vibes. “Next Life” adds a cool glitch groove and classic soul samples.
“Quick ” and “TWO 4” drops some more chill trap vibes. The latter is a real high-point on the record. In a hypnotic rhythmic and melodic flow Geno Demari delivers a smooth mix of emo and braggadocio rhymes. He goes hard on the record closer, “On That”. Minor-key synths and a reggaeton-infused 808 beat set an ominous mood as he rhymes, “hoes, got ’em. drugs, got ’em'”.
