Al Buchanan is an emerging independent singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist producer from the UK. A native of Croydon in South London, he took to music at an early age. Al moved north to Middlesbrough in his teens and played in a series of bands before landing a long-term gig as the drummer for English country singer, Elaine Palmer.
He took a hiatus from music for a while to focus on business and family. However, last year the multifaceted artist headed back to the studio and made his solo professional recording debut in July with the five-song EP Bringing Me Back To Life. Four singles, 50K streams and BBC airplay followed.
“Undivided Light” is the brand new single from Al Buchanan, released worldwide via all major streaming services on February 25, 2023. The track opens on a jazzy up-tempo minor-key alt-pop groove. On the mic, in lush multipart harmony the singer offers a dreamy and melancholy tale of losing his parents and then looking for them in the afterlife. The song’s ambient mix of electronic and organic instrumentation lends the track an 80s alternative electro-pop vibe.
