Frier is an emerging independent neo-soul singer/songwriter from Houston, Texas. The rising star made his solo professional recording debut in 2017 with the single “Light”. That track introduced a talented creator with a soulful voice, insightful lyrics, and a unique hip-hop and funk-infused soul groove.
Growing up in a musical household, Frier was surrounded by a multi-genre mix of sounds. The young artist soon found an affinity for neo-soul and was inspired at a young age by legends of the genre like Brian McKnight and Take 6. Since his debut, the prolific producer has released a dozen singles and two EPs. He has connected with fans around the world with popular tracks like 2022’s “Nobody”.
“Magic” is a recent single from Frier, available worldwide via all major streaming services. A bluesy acoustic guitar opens the track. Soon the beat drops on a hard downtempo hip-hop groove. Hypnotic vocal harmonies swirl on the periphery as Frier steps to the mic with a soulful meditation on Black pride and history. In the bridge, Houston emcee Phill Wade continues the theme with a verbose lyrical freestyle rap.
