Salois (pronounced Suh-Loyce) is an emerging independent hip-hop artist from Jackson, Michigan. The Midwest rapper is a veteran of numerous recording projects for more than a decade. Before ever taking to the mic, the young artist wrote poetry in solitude. Now a seasoned emcee, he is dropping a brand new solo project in 2023.
As inspiration for his sound, the rapper cites hip-hop legends like Tupac, Bone-Thugs-N-Harmony, Dr. Dre, Eminem, 50-Cent, T.I. & The Game. Salois creates street-smart storytelling rap with a verbose lyrical style and a taste for old-school beats. His lyrics tell true-life tales of growing up in poverty, battling drugs, and rising above through music.

Salois recently dropped the first two singles from his forthcoming debut solo album. The songs are available worldwide via all major streaming services. The y introduce a talented rapper and songwriter with a flow and production style that harken back the early work of some of his heroes. This is smart, hard and deeply personal hip-hop.
“7 AM” opens with a bluesy guitar and bass riding a chill boom-bap groove. In the mic, the Salois delivers a dramatic confessional autobiographical rap. Written in the form of a letter to his children, he rhymes about his life on the street, his rise in the music industry and then his fall to drugs. “City Lights” continues that theme with a focus on the allure of the biz, while changing up the music with a lo-fi hip-hop and synth-pop beat.
