The Sonia Astacio Downs Band – All Night Long

The Sonia Astacio Downs Band

The Sonia Astacio Downs Band is one of the hottest modern-day groups in Chicago’s legendary blues scene. Led by their soulful namesake vocalist, the Illinois sextet plays regularly at local hotspots like Buddy Guy’s Legends. The club’s iconic blues guitarist owner is a big fan.

"Sonia whatever you do don't ever stop singing. Don't ever stop. Just keep going."

Sonia Astacio Downs was the seventh child born to a Dominican-American family. She grew up singing, first in church. Later she discovered jazz greats like Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald. But it was the blues that would eventually capture her heart. Now, after working in the corporate world for over three decades, Sonia is putting all her energy behind the music she loves.

“All Night Long” is the debut album from The Sonia Astacio Downs Band, released worldwide via all major streaming services on February 19, 2023. The six-song collection is a snapshot of a killer live band at the top of their game. The album’s first single is theĀ  title track, an epic 8:28 sultry blues slow jam. The band lays down a slow and sexy groove while Sonia lets her lover know what’s up, in both English and Spanish. The track also features a killer extended solo from guitar virtuoso Andy Goode.
