Apryl is a veteran independent singer/songwriter whose musical career started when she was just two years old. Even at that young age, it was clear that she had a unique talent. She was asked to join the kids choir at her family’s church and has been singing ever since.
Throughout the 1990’s Apryl worked on both sides of the business, as a performer and behind the scenes with heavyweights like Jive Records, Harry Fox Agency, Dream Works and others. She found success as an artist as well. She once had the opportunity to write a song for Usher, and even opened up for the queen Mary J. Blige.
Apryl took a break from the music industry in the early 2000s to focus on her family. She worked as a social worker and eventually returned to college to earn a BS in criminal justice and a master’s in psychology. In 2020 she returned to the scene with a mission to share her own struggles to help others heal through music.

“Bruised Girl” is the brand new single from Apryl, released worldwide via all major streaming services on December 12, 2022. A bluesy ensemble accompanies the singer for a soulful organic r&b tale of transition from victim to victor. A church organ, gospel backing vocals and a doo-wop 6/8 beat create a timeless vibe as a blues guitar adds a hint of psychedelia. On the mic, Apryl delivers a powerful and empowering performance.
